How to get Upgrade Modules in Destiny 2

Players looking to infuse their gear in Destiny 2 must start collecting Upgrade Modules, but they don't grow on trees.

Players in Destiny 2 are getting used to a lot of new systems with the release of Shadowkeep and using an Upgrade Module to infuse gear is one of them. These have essentially replaced Enhancement Cores for the infusion process, so Guardians must get familiar with how to get Upgrade Modules if they want to tinker with their builds, which we know they do.

How to get Upgrade Modules

Upgrade Modules Destiny 2

Upgrade Modules can be obtained from several difference sources, including from certain quest steps as players complete the Shadowkeep campaign. Once that’s done however, the options shrink a little bit and ways to obtain them become rarer. The following are ways to obtain Upgrade Modules in Destiny 2:

  • Purchase from Banshee-44
  • Complete Banshee-44 weekly bounties
  • Unlocked through Season Pass rewards

The main way to grab these is going to be weekly bounties from Banshee-44. Since he offers Guardians a total of six bounties across their account (two per character), it’s possible to earn six Upgrade Modules a week without buying any. Guardians can also obtain them from the Season Pass and earning XP to unlock rewards, but at a certain point Upgrade Modules are no longer rewarded, which is a bummer. Finally, it’s viable to purchase Upgrade Modules from Banshee-44, but this will take a mix of Enhancement Cores, Legendary Shards, materials, and Glimmer. None of those should be at all difficult to come by, since the Enhancement Cores are earned through Banshee-44’s daily bounties. You can earn nine per day across your account. You can also buy them from Spider.

Now that Guardians are familiar with how they can get Upgrade Modules in Destiny 2, they should head over to our Destiny 2 complete strategy guide. We’ve been building it for over two years, and it features content helpful for both new and veteran Guardians.
