Sony launches online store stocked with PS4 consoles and games

Sony will offer a limited selection of physical games to kick off its online store opening.

Sony just announced the launch of its online PlayStation store, which will be packed with official PlayStation games, merchandise, and more. 

"Integrated within the PlayStation.com website, you can now easily navigate from hardware and game product information pages directly to purchasing these PlayStation products from our store, ranging from PS4, PS4 Pro and PS VR systems and bundles, as well as headsets, DualShock 4 Wireless Controllers, PS VR accessories, a selection of physical games, and voucher codes for PS Plus subscriptions," reads the update from Sony themselves, following yesterday's State of Play event. 

The site was created with helping gift-givers figure out what (and where) to purchase gifts for others in mind, as well as the opportunity for buyers in the United Stats to get their goods directly from PlayStation and not through a third party, as explained via the official PlayStation Blog announcement.

There's a wide variety of titles there to choose from if you're looking to go "official" and buy from the PlayStation online store. There's also a special promotion going on surrounding the store's launch, where you can select from two PlayStation 4 bundles that will be available until October 31:

• PlayStation 4 + a 12-month subscription of PS Plus for $339.99 (regularly $359.98)
• PlayStation 4 Pro + a 12-month subscription of PS Plus for $429.99 (regularly $459.98)

If you're a PlayStation Plus member, you can look forward to free, one-day express shipping. There are more products still being added to the store and there will be additional options over time, but for launch we'd say this is a solid selection.
