Twitch announces third annual SUBtember with more benefits

September is a time to rejoice, not only is it the month where fall officially begins—goodbye summer heat—but it’s also a time for bonuses and great deals of subscribing to your favorite Twitch streamers. If you’re as much of a fan of live streaming as the next guy, then September is going to be a good month as Twitch has announced the third annual SUBtember event.

Partnering up with Subway restaurants, this year’s SUBtember event does more than just bring you 50% off new tier 1 subscriptions to streamers. On top of the 50% discount, users will also find that throughout September Subway will throw in 10% more Bits whenever you cheer 10 or more Bits in any affiliate or Partner channel. In fact, you’ll also be able to find a new sandwich Cheermote available to cheer with once the month-long event kicks off.

Subway is also going to be gifting out a lot of subs in various channels this year, so fans should make sure to tune into their favorite streams throughout the month. Of course, everyone is making a Twitch channel these days, and September will also mark the launch of Subway on Twitch, where the restaurant will feature their favorite streamers on a brand-new channel that you can tune into and enjoy.

Basically, starting on September 3 and ending on September 24, Twitch will be offering 50% off new Tier 1 subscriptions made on a web browser of the desktop application. Any tier 1 subs that are made during this time will be eligible for the 50% discount so long as your sub has been canceled before September 3.

So, as it stands, it looks like many Twitch streamers will probably see a subscription increase throughout September. Twitch has made it very clear in the original blog post about the upcoming event that all streamers will continue to receive the full benefits of their subscriptions, so you won’t have to worry about your favorite streamers getting ripped off at all.
