At Shacknews, we’re big fans of the Nintendo Switch, and a frequent question we have for developers is if they intend to bring their games to Nintendo’s portable device. We posed this very question to Patrice Désilets, Cofounder and Creative Director of Panache Digital Games, about the studio’s upcoming title, Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey, and Nintendo Switch owners have reason for optimism.

Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey on Nintendo Switch

We already know that Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey will come out on PC via the Epic Games Store on August 27, 2019. We also know that it will arrive on PS4 and Xbox One in December 2019. However, that leaves a major platform out of the mix in the Nintendo Switch. When I asked Patrice Désilets about the possibility of Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey potentially getting a Nintendo Switch release, he had this to say:

That’s seems like a reasonable response, and the best one could hope for given the enormous amount of work it would be for a studio of 35 people to release a game on PC, PS4, and Xbox One within a few months of one another. The interest is obviously there, so it’s just a waiting game for owners of the Nintendo Switch who want to dig into some portable evolution gameplay.
