If you've been waiting patiently to get your hands on Astral Chain, the wait is almost over.

Nintendo has debuted the launch trailer for Astral Chain, Platinum Games' latest title, and you'll get to see plenty of awesome action unfold in this new clip.

Here's an official plot synopsis, courtesy of Nintendo.

"Master multiple combat styles in this synergetic action game! Humanity’s last chance against an interdimensional invasion is a special living weapon called the Legion. As a rookie officer in the elite police task force Neuron, you and your Legion will work together to solve cases and save humankind. The Astral Chain game gives you full control over two characters at once for thrilling Synergetic Action, courtesy of PlatinumGames. Alternate between several Legion types and skills to save the world your way."
In other words, it looks a lot like having dual Bayonettas at your disposal as you make your way through an austere world working to save mankind in any way you possibly can. Twinning!

Here's what reviewer Blake Morse had to say about the game after awarding it an 8 out of 10

"With all that said though, I am insanely impressed with the world that Platinum has built-in Astral Chain overall. It is gorgeous, the plot is intriguing and it feels like something new when it comes to the investigations and police work. While the combat mechanics might need cleaning up it’s cool that the dev team at least had the foresight to realize that might be a point of contention but there was still a lot left to offer, hence casual and unchained mode. And you really can’t fault a game for making contingencies for all types of players."

Astral Chain is set to debut on August 30 on Nintendo Switch.
