If you've been sitting on the edge of your seat waiting to see what the next Need for Speed game is, then we've got some great news for you. Today, EA officially revealed the next title in the beloved racing franchise, Need for Speed Heat.

The leaked name and some images seen throughout the trailer all appear to have been correct. Need for Speed Heat is the next racing game in the Need for Speed series, and it's set to arrive later this year on November 8. To help get fans ready for the upcoming release, EA and Ghosts, the developers working on the game, released a sweet, new trailer.

You can check out the trailer for yourself above. It doesn't look like we have any real details about the game just yet, though developers have mentioned some things on Reddit in the past. The belief that Need for Speed Heat would take place in the 80s seems to have been debunked, though, as many of the cars in the trailer are newer model vehicles.

It looks like, instead, the "heat" that the title is referring to is due to the heavy rogue police presence in the game. It looks like players will often be dealing with the police interfering in races, which should create some new and interesting challenges. The game's website also touts the tagline, "Hustle by day, risk it all at night". However, there's no clear indication of what this means exactly. Gamescom is just around the corner, and the Need for Speed site is already teasing another game trailer during that event.

We'll keep an eye out for any additional information about Need for Speed Heat, but for now, that's all we've got.
