Nintendo announces full Gamescom 2019 lineup

Plenty of Nintendo exclusive gameplay demos as well as a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be taking place.

Looking forward to seeing Nintendo bring its wares to Gamescom? The Big N has released a litany of games you can expect to see show up at the event, from Luigi's Mansion 3 to Astral Chain.

Nintendo will be bringing a wide variety of titles to Gamescom in Cologne, Germany from August 20 through August 24. Nintendo reps will be on hand to show off the following games:

  • Luigi’s Mansion 3
  • The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening
  • Astral Chain
  • Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition
  • Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020
  • The Witcher III: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition
  • Pokemon Sword and Shield

All visitors who head to Nintendo's booth in Hall 9 will get the chance to stop by and try out these games on Nintendo Switch systems. Or, if playing isn't what you feel like doing, you can check out Nintendo Live: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - Gamescom 2019 Invitational on Thursday, August 22. Players who emerge victorious will fly to Japan for the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate World Challenge Cup, which will happen at Nintendo Live in Kyoto on October 14.

Winners will play off against teams from Japan and North America for supremacy, and it will be live-streamed in English by way of the Nintendo UK YouTube channel. In short, there's a lot of exciting stuff going down that you won't want to miss if you're in the area during Gamescom.

There's only a few short weeks left from here, so if you're thinking about going, you'd better start making those all-important plans now! Meanwhile, Shacknews will be bringing you all the exciting news, interviews, and hands-on opportunities straight from the show floor.
