Every year, Facebook holds a special VR-focused event called Oculus Connect. The show is entering its sixth year, and the dates have officially been announced. Oculus Connect 6 will be held on September 25-26, 2019 at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center. While the actual event is focused on Facebook's VR efforts, there are satellite meetups and great times to be had talking to virtual reality developers and enthusiasts. Oculus has confimed that Apex Legends developer Respawn Entertainment will be back to OC6 to talk more about their AAA first-person VR experience that has been in the works for the past few years.

OC6 is Facebook's opportunity to showcase the true potential of their virtual reality lineup of software and products. "This year's annual developer conference marks the beginning of a new chapter for AR and VR," says the Oculus Connect 6 press release. The company just launched a refreshed Rift S VR HMD and the new Oculus Quest standalone device, so it seems like much of the conference will revolve around software for the Oculus ecosystem. The mention of AR is interesting, as Facebook has yet to reveal an augmented reality product. One thing can be certain, Mark Zuckerberg will stumble through an awkward keynote this September as we kick off the sixth Oculus Connect conference. It will be great to see all of the great developers and content creators in the VR industry come together again this fall.

I have been to every single one of these conventions, and I don't think I am going to stop just yet.
