Call of Duty: Mobile's Battle Royale mode detailed

If you're looking to play Call of Duty: Mobile, here's what you need to know about its Battle Royale mode.

Call of Duty: Mobile is right around the corner, but ahead of its official debut, you're going to want to hear about one particular mode that has everyone excited: battle royale.

The official Call of Duty blog via Activision hosted more than a few details about what to expect from the game, including its full-fledged battle royale mode, built for the ground-up for mobile devices. It's also a standalone experience from the other battle royale modes found in Call of Duty, so you'll get a unique set of features from Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's Blackout mode.

The mobile battle royale mode will feature up to 100 total rivals on an enormous map, with single, two-person, and four-person playlists coming to the game. You'll be able to choose a match and play alone, as part of a team, or just a pair. Choose from one of six classes at the onset of the game with their own mixture of skills and abilities, and take on the bad guys in a huge map not unlike that of Blackout where you drop in, find weapons and gear, and work to survive to the best of your ability. It's basically just like the other battle royale games you're used to playing, but sprinkled with plenty of Call of Duty flavor.

For instance, you'll get plenty of settings from earlier Call of Duty titles, a dog tag retrieval when you revive teammates, with people you've brought back into the game dropping from a cargo plane once they're fighting fit again.

There's a load of additional details via the official Call of Duty blog, but rest assured that the mobile version of its massively popular battle royale mode is going to be just as complex and full-featured as its competitors out there, which might make it a little difficult to decide "where you're dropping" at any given moment, into Call of Duty, Fortnite, or PUBG.

At any rate, pre-registration for Call of Duty: Mobile is open in a few regions such as North and South America and Europe. You can sign up now to get ready to try out the game on your mobile device of choice, though there doesn't appear to be a concrete release date just yet. We'll make sure to let you know when there is.
