Looking for a reason to jump back into Call of Duty: Black Ops 4? It's here, with the debut of Operation Spectre Rising, which adds a multitude of new content to the game for players to jump into.
The new content drop adds assassin-themed updates to the game, including the Assassin Specialist, changes to Blackout, new game modes, personalization items, three new multiplayer maps, and a summer-themed event.
“The community has anticipated Spectre’s return for a long time, and that’s inspired us to build Operation Spectre Rising all aroundthis shadowy, fan-favorite assassin and the wetworks theme,” said Treyarch's Dan Bunting. “This new Operation delivers lots of new game modes and fun ways to play Black Ops 4, including some really cool changes to the Blackout map followingSpectre’s dramatic introduction – players won’t want to miss this event!”
The new Assassin specialist will be available complete with a Shadow Blade melee weapon as well as a smoke grenade that provides instant cover for players to move undetected as well as giving away enemy locations. For Blackout, players will be able to check out the Hydro Dam, which has been damaged and is causing a huge flood – this means there's a lot of water to outrun.
There are three new multiplayer maps to explore too, such as Masquerade, Artifact, WMD, and a new Blackout character named Uncle Frank. Don't let the name fool you: he's just an older version of Frank Woods from Call of Duty: Black Ops II.
“The team has worked hard to offer a real diversity of content with Operation Spectre Rising, while providing a thoughtful cadence that keeps the experience fresh across the entire breadth of the game,” said Treyarch's Mark Gordon. “From Spectre debuting in Multiplayer and Blackout, to design modifications that will allow us to share content on a more regular basis, Operation Spectre Rising really shifts this season into a higher gear.”
These goodies are available now, so if you're jonesing for some sweet, sweet Black Ops 4 action, it's ready for you to tear into today.
