Kunai side-scrolling tablet-powered ninja game looks awesome

Kunai brings side-scrolling ninja power to a diminutive tablet named Tabby, who cleaves through evil like a hot knife through butter.

Ever seen a tablet rip and shred enemies to pieces? Watch the trailer for the upcoming Kunai from The Arcade Crew below, and you'll be able to proudly say you have.

The Arcade Crew and developer TurtleBlaze bring you Kunai, a game that combines action, ninja-tier parkour, and excellent reflexes to bring you a challenging platformer with deadly consequences. The kicker? You play as a tablet named Tabby. But he's not just any tablet. He's got an ancient warrior's soul in him. He boots up one day to find humanity on the edge of extinction, nearly wiped out by AI.

So you set off on a bloody adventure slashing through everyone you find, with a colorful and retro-styled art aesthetic set against a violent backdrop with plenty of blood squirting through the air. Yeah, if you like that kind of thing, you're gonna have a blast here.

Luckily, you won't have long to wait to get your paws on it, either. The game will be playable at both GDC and PAX East this year, so if you're attending either show, make sure you take the time to check it out, as it looks positively, devilishly delightful.

This is the first time we can say with certainty we've seen a tablet wielding swords, so kudos to the Arcade Crew and TurtleBlaze team. Hopefully we'll get a release date for the game soon enough, but for now just stay tuned to Shacknews for additional updates on everything Kunai and all your other gaming news.
