How to change clothes & unlock clothing in The Division 2

If you’re going to save the world, then you’ve got to look good doing it. Learning how to unlock new clothing and even change your clothes is going to be vital for those fashionistas out there that are exploring The Division 2. In this handy guide we’ll go over everything you need to know to get your hands on some new digs, as well as how to outfit them on your character.

How to unlock clothing in The Division 2

The first step to looking good is going to be getting your hands on new clothing. If you’re worried about looking good while you save the world, then there are plenty of ways to make sure you look as stylish as ever while taking down the bad guys. Like the original The Division, players will find a multitude of ways to get their hands on new clothing options by completing events in the game, helping out civilians, and even by completing side missions.

Complete side missions

There are a plethora of side missions to be found as you explore the various settlements around Washington D.C. Not only will these missions often reward you with some good loot, experience, and other goodies, but you can also unlock new clothing by completing them as well. There’s always a chance for some sweet new digs to make their way into your stash as you complete these missions, so don’t be afraid to go out and conquer the city from the dark and dangerous people trying to run it.

Open up caches

As you explore the world, you’ll find several weapon caches, chest, and other containers spread throughout the streets. One of the best ways to get your hands on new clothing is to explore the world and open up these caches whenever you come across them. You’ll find different resources, items and clothing pieces inside, making it a great way to get to know the city better.

How to change clothes

Now that you know a bit about unlocking new clothing, let’s talk about changing your clothes. You can change your outfit at any time from the Inventory screen. To pick up the inventory screen, press I on the keyboard, or MENU/OPTIONS on the Xbox One or PlayStation 4. This will bring up your character screen, where you can see the various items you can equip.

To change out your clothing, look for the icon that resembles a Jacket in the top right-hand corner. If you select this icon, you’ll then be given a brief overview of all the various clothing items that you can change. This includes, jackets, hats, glasses, scarves, and so on down the list. To change any piece of clothing, select that piece and then choose a new one from the list of options. You can also purchase different clothing from the Apparel Store as well, though this will cost you real-world money.
