The Season of the Drifter has begun, and Destiny 2 fans can now dive into the latest updates to Bungie’s ever-growing sci-fi world. While the update introduces several new things, there are three new pinnacle weapons that players will want to obtain and add to their collection. The Vanguard pinnacle weapon in Season of the Drifter is the Oxygen SR3 Scout Rifle. To unlock this weapon, you’ll need to complete the quest step, Redeployment. In this guide we’ll show you how to complete this quest, which tasks you with unlocking the strike Triumph, The Best Offense.

How to get Redeployment

In order to unlock the quest step, and actually start working towards unlocking the Oxygen SR3, you’re going to need to visit Zavala in The Tower. Speak with him and look through the Pursuits section of his wares. Here you should see the quest step. Pick it up, and then you’ll be able to view it from your Inventory.

You can acquire the Redeployment quest from Zavala in The Tower.

Now that you have the quest, it’s time to go over the various requirements you need to be aware of.

How to complete The Best Offense Triumph

In order to complete Redeployment, you’re going to need to complete The Best Offense, one of many Triumphs found within the Strikes section of your Triumph Books. To view these, visit the Triumphs page of your Inventory, then select Vanguard and then Strikes. Here you should see The Best Offense near the top of the first page. You can view the requirements for the Triumph, as well as track it from this area.

Destiny 2 The Best Offense Triumph tasks
Here are the requirements you'll need to complete to unlock The Best Offense Triumph in Destiny 2.

To complete The Best Offense Triumph, you are going to need to complete the following in any strike activity:

  • Land 1000 Precision Final Blows
  • Generate 500 Orbs
  • Complete Strikes and Nightfalls.

We’ve broken down each requirement here even further, to help you complete it more easily and quickly.

Land 1,000 Precision final blows

To complete this requirement of the Triumph you’re going to need to be score the final precision-based killing shot on 1,000 enemies. This means you’ll need to hit enemies in their “critical” zone, which is usually the head on most of the enemies in Destiny 2. You can tell you’re getting precision hits by looking out for yellow damage numbers on the enemy.

The easiest way to complete this task is to load into a strike with some of your friends. Remember, you have to score the final killing blow, or it will not count towards your progress. To complete this strike, I highly suggest sticking to strikes like Lake of Shadows or The Hollowed Lair. Your goal is to find large pools of enemies, which you can then focus precision shots on. This should make this task go by as quickly as possible.

Generate 500 Orbs

The second task you’ll need to complete to close out The Best Offense is to generate 500 Orbs. These are the Orbs most often created when you use your Super to defeat other enemies. You can also generate Orbs from kills with your Masterwork weapon, so make sure you’ve got a Masterwork weapon equipped when trying to complete this task, as it will make it go by quicker and easier. To quickly generate Orbs, make use of Supers like Stormtrance, Blade Barrage, Hammer of Sol, Fist of Havoc and Nova Bomb. These are the best at generating larger amounts of Orbs and using them should make this task pass by quickly.

Strikes and Nightfalls completed

The final task that you need to pull off to complete The Best Offense is to complete Strikes and Nightfalls. This will take the longest as each strike that you complete will count as 1%. Nightfalls will count as 5% towards your overall goal, as well. This means you’ll theoretically need to complete 100 strikes, however, throwing in some Nightfalls will make the bar rise faster in the long run. The easiest way to complete this part of the Triumph is to just play through the playlists that you have available. The good news is, you’ll also have a chance at acquiring some other gear along the way, which should make it worthwhile.

Once you have completed The Best Offense, you’ll complete Redeployment and unlock the Oxygen SR3 pinnacle weapon in Destiny 2.
