Shacknews spoke with LG about their newest technology at CES. Greg Lee, a senior product trainer at LG shared some insight to the company’s new R-series OLED rollable Television. The rollable TV is one that pops up from a rectangular like box, and can completely retract back into said box when not in use. In the video below, you can see LG’s rollable TV in action.

The rollable TV’s display a 4k resolution and support HDR. “Like our other OLED’s this year, we’re incorporating the new Alpha 9 gen 2 processor.” This will help to give screens the best resolution and sound possible. The rollable TV’s will also be compatible with home AI. Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Apple Airplay can be paired and used to navigate the television itself.  The remote will feature a microphone which can be used to activate a variety of AI voice commands. The remote can also be used to control appliances and check schedules.

The don’t currently have a price point or official release date, but that information can be expected when the product gets a larger, more official introduction in the second half of 2019.
