Hades, Hello Neighbor, and Ashen are rolling out the red carpet for gamers that start up the Epic Games Store.

One of the most prevalent things stated throughout The Games Awards 2018 is that Epic Games' new store was alive and serving as home to some games launched during the award show. The Epic Games Store is live now and features the newly launched Ashen, Hades, and Hello Neighbor: Hide and Seek.

Ashen and Hello Neighbor are titles that have been known for a while, but this launch came as a surprise. Hades, on the other hand, was announced and launched into early access in the same trailer at The Game Awards. It's developed by Supergiant Games, the team behind Pyre, Transistor, and Bastion, and can be purchased on the Epic Games Store right now. Here's the synopsis taken from the store:

Battle Out of Hell

Defy the god of death as you hack and slash your way out of the Underworld in this rogue-like dungeon crawler from the creators of Bastion and Transistor. Play In Early Access: This is a living game in active development! Expect regular updates with new features, events, characters, places, powers, and more.

Hades is $19.99 and features what is becoming the classic Supergiant Games art style and isometric perspective. "Though the game is a work-in-progress, we think Hades already offers many hours of exciting action and engrossing narrative," the official Supergiant Games blog reads. "We felt it was in an ideal spot for us to continue development in partnership with our players, to help us make it even better. By playing in Early Access, you’ll be able to see the game take shape over time based on our plans and your feedback. We expect to add features, events, characters, weapons, powers, environments, and more, all while fine-tuning every aspect of the experience, for at least a year and a half from our initial launch. During Early Access, we expect to launch major content updates on a regular basis, with the possibility of smaller updates in between."

Ashen is an action-RPG that features a Souls-like experience with an Absolver art style. The game has an overall style all its own, though, and you can read about it in our Ashen hands-on preview. Ashen is available for $39.99 in the store.

Here's a list of titles currently available and coming soon on the Epic Games Store:

  • Fortnite
  • Subnautica
  • Super Meat Boy
  • Hades
  • Hello Neighbor: Hide and Seek
  • Ashen
  • Darksiders 3
  • Satisfactory
  • Rebel Galaxy Outlaw
  • Outer Wilds
  • Journey
  • ManEater
  • Super Meat Boy Forever
  • World War Z
  • Genesis Alpha One
  • Shadow Complex
  • Unreal Tournament

The store also has a Mod Editors section for titles like Bus Simulator 18, Ark, Conan Exiles, Dark and Light, Squad, and more. Epic Games seems to be off to a solid, albeit meager, start and has a long way to go before competing with Steam in regards to the store's depth. It has an attractive foundation so far, though, and will surely attract a lot more content. Stay tuned to Shacknews for additional updates.
