Bandai Namco and Red Bull have joined forces today to announce a limited-edtion Red Bull Energy Drink PAC-MAN can. The can will include a special code under each tab that will unlock Red Bull-themed gameplay content for the PAC-MAN mobile app.

“After nearly 40 consecutive years of chasing ghosts, even PAC-MAN sometimes needs a little pick-me-up, and that’s Red Bull,” said Toshihiko Naoe, Director of Mobile at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. “We’re excited to unite these two revolutionary brands for an electrifying partnership. We can’t wait to see fans take a bite out of the brand-new in-game content, available via Red Bull Energy Drink PAC-MAN cans.”

The PAC-MAN app is available to download on Google Play and the App Store. Shackers can input codes found under the tabs of the limited-edtion PAC-MAN cans to unlock specially designed Red Bull mazes (one maze per code) which will feature never-before-seen levels. The codes will also unlock a special ability for PAC-MAN, allowing players to take down Ghosts in their non-edible form after picking up one of the Red Bull cans that are placed throughout the map. This is a first for the storied video game franchise and a break from the norm. Another neat detail will be that cherries will be replaced by Red Bull letters on each level.

But wait, there's more news. For a limited time, a bunch of iconic PAC-MAN songs and sounds are available on a free digitial soundboard for fans to mess around with.

The limited-edition Red Bull Energy Drink PAC-MAN can is available now nationwide while supplies last and comes in 8.4 fl oz and 12 fl oz single serving cans, as well as 8.4 fl oz 4-packs and 12-packs. You only have so much time before these cans will be sold out, so get out there if you want to give PAC-MAN some wings with Red Bull's exclusive in-game content for the mobile game.
