Five New Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC characters coming post-launch, Fighters Pass revealed

"Why close the door, when we can add even more?"

Branch new Characters for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will come in DLC packs. They aren't echo fighters and the packs will include the character, a stage, and a collection of music tracks. The individual packs for each character costs $5.99, but players can also grab the Super Smash Bros. Fighters Pass for $24.99.

Who else will join the fight?

These five new fighters are being made from scratch, meaning the team hasn't started development on them. It may take a year or so to release all of the DLC characters for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and no release dates are nailed down yet, but I'm sure the Nintendo community's imagination is going to run wild coming up with lists of the hopeful roster additions.

With the final pre-launch additions of Ken and Incineroar, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate already has an incredibly massive roster, but will be certified as one of the most robust fighters around by the time all the new characters release. The base game launches December 7, 2018, on the Nintendo Switch. Who's your top hopeful addition to the roster? Let us know in Chatty, read up on everything revealed in this final Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Nintendo Direct, and stay tuned to Shacknews for additional updates.

Yeah the Pirahna Plant reveal (spoilers) taught me that the "grinch" leak was mostly a hoax. I like your Travis Touchdown suggestion. I would possibly add:

Firebrand from Gargoyle's Quest, Gargoyle's Quest II, Demon's Crest, Vs Capcom series
Geno from Super Mario RPG is not a bad pick
Max from Advance Wars -- just THINK of the music for this pack!

Maybe a character from advance wars could work like pokemon trainer, and you could switch between different kinds of units

I thought about a Andy/Max/Sami situation since I love all those characters so much but eh, maybe focusing on just ONE's "moveset vocabulary" is the better/more-economical idea and to that end I think Max -- the burly beefcake guy -- adapts best to a fighting-game formula. No idea what the special attacks could be though. Maybe "toy/drone sized" versions of the military units?
