Game Off, GitHub's annual game jam returns in November and lasts entire month

What kind of game will you create?

1

GitHub's fifth annual game jam, Game Off, is coming back in two weeks, so if you're planning on participating by creating your own game, you'd better get started! This game jam takes place throughout the entirety of November, giving you 30 days to create a game based around a theme that's going to be announced on Wednesday, November 1 at 13:37 PM PT. How quaint of GitHub.

Entrants for the Game Off can use open source game engines and libraries as well as free tools to get their title off the ground, but any technology can be used for the game whatsoever. The Game Off will be taking place on itch.io this year as well, with entrants judging all the entries themselves – talk about exciting!

If you're interested in participating, you can keep checking back via the official GitHub blog and Twitter accounts, and check the #GitHubGameOff hashtag as well. Then, hit up the jam via itch.io to get registered. If you join and make something awesome, be sure to share it with us so we can all check it out!
