This post-apocalypse has a different flavor. Remnant: From The Ashes is a co-op shooter from Gunfire Games, the team behind Darksiders 3, and it tackles the end of worlds in a different way with gameplay that takes from Left 4 Dead, Dark Souls, and more

Mike Maza, the lead designer for Remnant: From The Ashes, took a break from the PAX West show floor to share some intriguing details about this upcoming "third-person, survival, action shooter." In the interview below, Maza teases some info on the alien invasion that sets the stage for Remnant, discusses magical presence in this post-apocalyptic story, breaks down the deadly combat style, and the reception of players thus far.

Remnant: From The Ashes is slated for a 2019 launch on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. No word on the Nintendo Switch version, but the developer did seem open to the idea depending on the game's performance.
