Oculus VR CTO John Carmack: "We're going to end up competing with Nintendo Switch"

Carmack believes the Oculus Quest has Nintendo's console to look to as a rival.

During today's Oculus Connect 5 keynote, CTO John Carmack took the stage to discuss the Oculus Go, Oculus Quest, and other important tidbits about the company's array of virtual reality devices. One particular remark from Carmack stood out when the conversation shifted to systems and devices the Oculus Quest could compete with, in regard to the Nintendo Switch.

"We're going to end up competing with Nintendo Switch," said Carmack, of the fact that Oculus Quest is meant to be a portable answer to larger platform experiences like the Switch's brethren, the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
