Are you ready to dive into the first multiplayer-only Call of Duty entry? Here's a look at what's in store.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is nearly upon us and Activision is ready to welcome everyone to the multiplayer party. The Black Ops 4 beta commenced recently, giving players a peek into the Blackout battle royale mode, and today's new trailer gives potential players a look at that mode, multiplayer PvP, and zombies.

This new entry marks a first for the Call of Duty franchise, eschewing a single-player campaign altogether for a more robust and, potentially, long-lasting multiplayer experience via PvP and co-op modes only. Blackout delivers Treyarch's take on the wildly popular battle royale genre, multiplayer returns with some significant changes to the meta, and players get access to three fairly different zombie experiences set across different eras.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 launches October 12, 2018, and PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Stay tuned to Shacknews for additional updates.
