Marvel's Spider-Man is the latest PlayStation 4 exclusive release from Insomniac Games, a crew that's become well-known for giving their games loads of collectibles and bonuses. Among other noteworthy abilities, Spider-Man is able to take photos of landmarks and people found throughout Manhattan — and that includes the option to take selfies, often in very amusing situations.

How to take selfies in Spider-Man PS4

Taking selfies in Spider-Man PS4 is simple: players simply need to open the Photo Mode by pressing the options button, then scrolling down to and selecting Photo Mode. Doing so will temporarily freeze time, giving Spidey a chance to set up an ideal photograph. To get a selfie of Spider-Man, look for the Camera Type option and switch it to Selfie.

Within the Selfie mode, players will be able to jazz up their Spidey pics with various filters, facial expressions (more like mask expressions), and Spider-Man themed stickers. When the photo is all set up, press Triangle to hide the Camera UI, then use the DualShock 4's Share button to take a screen capture.

For now, there's no way to adjust Spider-Man's selfie pose. Sometimes he'll put up a peace sign, other times he'll throw up the horns. Which pose he chooses seems to be context sensitive, with certain poses showing up while perching or free-falling, and others showing up while standing or web zipping. The best bet for players looking to capture a certain style is simply to try photographing Spider-Man in various circumstances.

Naturally, the game's Photo Mode also allows players to take non-selfie photographs. The Camera Type can be adjusted to suit various needs, and players can even tweak settings like focus, aperature, vignettes, and more. Using the Free or Orbit views, players can draw the camera far away from Spider-Man to get a better view of his surroundings, like in this picture of Spidey perched just outside the Sanctum Sanctorum:

With a little bit of experimentation, Spider-Man PS4 players should be well on their way to taking some of Peter Parker's finest Spidey shots yet. To learn more about Insomniac's latest release, be sure to check out our Marvel's Spider-Man home page.
