Just as things are in the comic books, Marvel's Spider-Man includes a number of different allies and enemies that will be instantly recognizable to followers of the Spider-Man series. In good form, the developers at Insomniac Games have included a number of powerful foes that not only seek the destruction of the city, but of Spider-Man himself. Here's the list of villains players can expect to encounter within Marvel's Spider-Man.
It likely goes without saying, but we'll say it anyway: spoilers are to follow. If you haven't completed the main campaign and want to leave the plot's biggest surprises unspoiled, read no further!
All villains in Marvel's Spider-Man
There are many characters from the Spider-Man canon, including both heroes and villains, featured in Insomniac Games' latest PlayStation 4 exclusive release. Many of them will be instantly recognizable from the wall crawler's previous silver screen outings, though followers of the comic book series will likely spot even more.
Again, this is complete spoiler territory. Reader discretion is advised.
The main antagonists of Marvel's Spider-Man are collectively known as the Sinister Six. Fans of the Spider-Man comic series will recall that the supervillain supergroup was first formed by the evil genius Doctor Octopus way back in The Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1, originally published in 1964. However, for this game, Insomniac deviated slightly from the group's original roster. Here's the full lineup of the Sinister Six as they appear in Marvel's Spider-Man:
- Doctor Octopus - Otto Octavius
- Mister Negative - Martin Li
- Electro - Max Dillon
- Rhino - Aleksei Sytsevich
- Scorpion - Mac Gargan
- Vulture - Adrian Toomes
In addition to the Sinister Six, Spidey will also face off with the forces of Sable, headed by none other than Silver Sable herself. Beyond that, there are appearances of several other characters who are sometimes allies, sometimes enemies:
- Shocker - Herman Shultz
- Kingpin - Wilson Fisk
- Silver Sable - Silver Sablinova
- Taskmaster - Tony Masters
- Black Cat - Felicia Hardy
- Norman Osborn
- J. Jonah Jameson
Of course, Spider-Man is also joined by a host of special allies, including the loveable Aunt May, the determined Mary Jane Watson, and the young up-and-comer Miles Morales. Spidey also gets occasional assistance from the NYPD's own Captain Yuri Watanabe.
These are most of the main villains and allies featured in Marvel's Spider-Man. To learn more about Insomniac Games' most ambitious release to-date, be sure to check out Shacknews' official Marvel's Spider-Man review.
