More content than watching the entire Lord of the Rings Trilogy back to back.

Just in case you missed out when the game first made its debut, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced Middle-earth: Shadow of War Definitive Edition to reel all potential players back in once more. The "comprehensive" version of the open-world action game will include all the goodies that originally released as DLC, as well as the free updates and improvements the game implemented recently.

This version includes the main game, full Expansion Pass, additional story campaigns and missions, Orc tribes, weapons, abilities, enemies, a new region, Orc tribes, and more. You get just about everything that's released for the game, as well as the updates that recently made the rounds: the removal of the market and micro transactions, an updated post-game, enhancements to the Nemesis system, Endless Siege mode, Photo Mode upgrades, new difficulty levels, player stats, and a whole lot more. If you skipped out on the game the first time around, you definitely should make time for it now.

“Middle-earth: Shadow of War Definitive Edition brings together all of our free content updates and gameplay improvements, along with our Story and Nemesis Expansions, providing the very best experience for players. Whether you’re diving in for the first time or making your return to Middle-earth, there’s never been a better time to walk into Mordor," said Michael de Plater, Vice President of Creative at Monolith Productions.

You can grab a free demo right now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC if you think you might want to commit, and otherwise the Definitive Edition will run you $59.99. You'll have to download additional content aside from the main game, of course, so make sure you've got a decent internet connection.

They want 125 gigs to download/install this game. Are they completely insane?

I really need to go back and play the DLC for this. I got so burned out on the core game that I never played the season pass I played for. I loved Shadow of Mordor, but something about the sequel just didn't do it for me. :/

I haven't played the DLC yet either, but they're separate from the main game so that does make them slightly more appealing. You get to play as 2 separate characters in 2 self contained stories. If they only just added more to do in the already-too-big main campaign there's no chance in hell I'd bother. The most recent one with Baranor in particular looks pretty neat. They even give you a god damn grappling hook and glider a la Just Cause!
