Looking for a new board game to add to your collection? Look no further than Walmart, for a sweet deal on the popular co-op board game Gloomhaven, which has a massive amount of content. It's up for sale at the retailer online for $139, which is a whopping savings off of the normal price, which can typically sell for upward of $200. Which is the better price? Yeah, Walmart's is obviously.

The fantasy-themed title finds players working together to triumph over each other throughout various combat-based scenarios. Difficulty does scale based on the number of players involved, and you have 1 to 4 players working their way through branching storyline paths comprised of over 100 scenarios.

If you haven't picked up a copy of the game, which has since been rated the number one board game of all time by BoardGameGeek (and high marks from just about everyone else) you can make it yours now, all 20 lbs. of that gorgeous box and all. Now you just need a few folks to play it with. We can't help you there, unless you wanna do all that remotely. Hey, it could happen!

Woah, that is a sweet deal for hardcore boardgamers! I wish I had the time, energy, and friends (lol) to get into this. Apparently it's fantastic.

I play this game every other Wednesday with a group of friends. We've been playing for about six months and at this rate, we could keep going for at least another year. There is so much content in this game it's ridiculous. One of the best games ever made, so much fun. If anybody is on the fence about this, just go for it at this price, I've seen people pay over $300 when it was hard to find.

        Could a 5yo and a 7yo play this?

          No :(

Even a middle schooler would have to be pretty motivated to learn given the playtime & amount of reading and planning involved.

My 6yo likes Catacombs Caverns, NMBR9 and the X-Wing base set.

I would say no, it is a fairly fiddly and very complicated game and each scenario can take several hours per sitting. It's not really for kids. It takes a lot of patience and attention. The investment is worth it though for adults because the game is so much fun once you get the hang of it.

$139 is the normal going rate for Gloomhaven. It used to sell for higher when it wasn't readily available but that's no longer the case. Definitely not for a 5 and 7 year old ;)

It's a good point, that is the listed retail price of the game, in between printings the price goes up again because demand goes up.
