Hyper Light Drifter was a big hit on PCs when it first debuted back in 2016. It later came to both the Xbox One and PS4. Thanks to publisher Abylight Studios, the cult hit is headed to the Nintendo Switch, where players can finally take the 2D RPG action game on the go. We spoke with Eva Gaspar, CEO of Abylight about bringing the game to Nintendo’s handheld console.

Gaspar goes into the story of how Abylight came to work on the Switch port of the game (originally developed by Heart Machine). Abylight had lots of experience with Nintendo platforms and reached out to Heart Machine to get the wheels turning on the project. She says the game will run at a locked 60 fps on the Switch (the game was locked to 30 fps when it initially launched). We at Shacknews are big fans of the game and its outstanding soundtrack, which landed a spot on our Best Video Game Vinyl Releases of 2017 list. Hyper Light Drifter should be out on the Switch by the end of this summer.
