Aside from Madden, there's no sports video game franchise on the planet that draws the attention of basketball fans quite like the NBA 2K series. Gamers have been hotly anticipating the upcoming release of NBA 2K19, and now they have even more reason to get excited, as we've just received word that actor Ser'Darius Blain will be starring in the new game through the use of performance capture.

Speaking to Shacknews at the recent Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 community reveal event, Blain revealed that he'd been working with 2K games doing voice and motion capture on the title. It's currently unknown just what his role in the game will be, primarily with regard to whether or not he himself will be featured in the game, but we'll update with new information as it becomes available.

Blain is a 31 year-old actor who fans might know for playing the roles of Young Fridge in the new Jumanji movie as well as the character Galvin in the popular television series Charmed. NBA 2K19 won't be his first video game credit, either, as Blain previously voiced The Local Population in Rockstar's breakout open-world hit Grand Theft Auto V.

We still haven't received any official word on when 2K sports plans on releasing its latest basketball title, but fans have come to expect new NBA 2K releases toward the end of the year. Until then, stay on top of the latest news for NBA 2K19 by keeping your browser tuned right here to Shacknews.
