Stardew Valley Comes to PS Vita With May Release Date

The little handheld that could is still chugging along.

Stardew Valley is available on just about every other platform already, but now it's making its move to one that it should have been on a long time ago: PS Vita. The adorable micro-sized farming sim is hitting the poor little neglected handheld this month, so you can take all your farm shenanigans on the go with you. It's targeting a May 22 release date, so make sure you dust off that Vita, charge it up, and update it since you probably haven't done so for months. It's going to need some TLC before it's fully up and running again.

Developer Eric Barone (ConcernedApe) posted the announcement on the official Stardew Valley blog today, noting that the release would also be a cross-buy purchase, so if you already bought it on PlayStation 4, you can bring it with you with PS Vita as well. That's great news, especially if you were ever sitting around lamenting why it didn't touch down on the best possible handhled it could have come to other than Switch.

"Stardew Valley on-the-go is a lot of fun, so I’m very excited to bring it to a great portable console like the PS Vita!" ConcernedApe wrote on the blog post. "I look forward to hearing about your experiences in Stardew Valley."

If you're a Harvest Moon fan or enjoy calming farming sims, Stardew Valley was practically made for you. This is just another outlet to enjoy it on, so make sure you grab a copy if you're still showing your own Vita a little love. It deserves it, poor thing, since it's been so neglected.

Recently, Stardew Valley's multiplayer beta went live, so if you're on PC you can check that out in the meantime while waiting on the Vita edition to become available. Just make sure to rustle some friends up first.
