Despite indie retailers dropping Xbox support because of it, Microsoft set some lofty goals for its Game Pass subscription service with a 2018 schedule that features Crackdown 3, a future Halo game, and a promise to include other major Xbox exclusives on launch day. With May nearly upon us, State of Decay 2 is the next heavy hitter to join the Game Pass roster and Microsoft has revealed what other titles will be joining it that month.

In addition to State of Decay 2, one of our Most Anticipated Xbox One Games of 2018Game Pass will gain access to Pro Evolution Soccer 2018, Laser League, Overcooked, The Escapists, Homefront: The Revolution, Unmechanical: Extended, and Sonic & Knuckles.

Laser League will be the first new release, dropping on May 10 and joining PES 2018, Homefront: The Revolution, and other previously released games. State of Decay 2 will be zombie-shuffling into the mix on May 22. A special introductory offer starts tomorrow, April 26, and runs through May 8. It allows new users to get Game Pass for a $1 as part of the Endless Play Xbox sale.

Game Pass gives players access to over 100 games for a monthly fee, including some new releases right at launch. For example, a few friends and I are using the service to try out Sea of Thieves. We haven't dug into the other games yet, but there's a lot of value right at our fingertips. This program is going to be extremely important when looking back at the Xbox One's performance and may even the potential of the next console from Microsoft, if there is one, so stay tuned to Shacknews for more updates.
