The penultimate chapter of our God of War walkthrough covers the brief mission known as Mother's Ashes, where Kratos and Atreus head to the mountain peak within Jotunheim to fulfill their past promises.

Return to the Realm Travel Room

Head across the shoreline and enter the mystic gateway, all while listening to Kratos, Atreus, and Mimir discuss recent events. Follow the circular path toward the next gateway, enter it, then climb the light bridge into the Realm Travel Room.

Open a Passage to Jotunheim

Interact with the table and select Jotunheim, then sit back and enjoy the cutscene.

Find Jotunheim's Highest Peak

Climb the massive staircase through the fog and past the various trees toward the blinding light at its peak. At the top of the stairway, keep pushing forward through the light to initiate a new cutscene near the mountain's peak.

Continue over the chain bridge and into the adjacent cavern. Within the chamber with the statues, use the Square button to interact with the monuments and learn more about the statues and carvings from Atreus. Circle around to the back of the room, then climb the staircase up and head toward the opening in the wall to trigger another scene.

Scatter Her Ashes

After the revelation, head back through the opening in the wall, then climb up the cliff to the mountain's peak to trigger another scene.

Listen to the conversation between Kratos and Atreus, then turn away from the cliff. This marks the end of the Mother's Ashes quest. Next up is the game's final mission titled The Journey Home.
