Post Scriptum is a first-person simulation shooter set during WW2 and looks to establish a pattern of hardcore shooters from publisher Offworld Industries. Sometime later today, the pre-orders will go live and all tiers give players access to pre-release testing in May 2018.

As described on the Steam page, Post Scriptum is a sim shooter “focusing on historical accuracy, large-scale battles, a difficult learning curve and an intense need for cohesion, communication and teamwork.” Part of that historical accuracy is a 1 to 1 recreation of the area where Operation Market Garden took place. Players will have access to more than 40 weapons and 50 vehicles in 50 v 50 conflicts that take place on five maps that make up a 140 square kilometer (or slightly over 54 square mile) playable area.

Post Scriptum has been in development since March 2016 and will feature two objective based game modes at launch, but also features a “sandbox” mode that will allow game masters to create their own unique scenarios. The development kit for Post Scriptum will also be made available to the game’s community, kicking in the door for mod opportunities. If you want to get a head start on the game, here are the pre-order tiers:

Squad, the 50 v 50 modern sandbox shooter that made honorable mention for Early Access Game of 2017, was the first project from Offworld and a new spin-off from that group is working on Post Scriptum. Offworld Industries is made up of devs that worked on the Battlefield 2 mod Project Reality and the spinoff team from that group, focused on Post Scriptum, is officially called Periscope Games.

Post Scriptum is schedule for full release in 2018. Stay tuned to Shacknews for more updates.
