Everspace Expansion 'Encounters' Adds 10 Hours Of Gameplay And 4K

The deep space roguelike has a massive expansion coming to PC this month and Xbox One X early 2018.

The beautiful and challenging roguelike Everspace tasks players with shooting, crafting, and looting their way through randomized sectors of outer space where they must be prepared for any situation that comes their way. Developers Rockfish Games are adding to the potential mystery around every corner with a new expansion called Encounters, which will include new ships, new enemies, new story content, and enhanced visuals.

The Encounters expansion adds a new player ship called the Colonial Sentinel and it will have a new style shield and access to a plethora of new weapons and devices to excite new players and intrigue older ones. The new factory space stations will offer services like resource refining, ship upgrades or repairs, and more. The expansion also adds the Okkar Homeworld, a new place for players to visit. They'll encounter new enemy types and story characters along the way.

In addition to new gameplay features, Encounters will bring some visual enhancements to Everspace on the Xbox One. The game is being migrated to Unreal Engine 4.17 for Xbox One X compatibility and, when the expansion releases on Xbox consoles in early 2018, it will be capable of 4K on the Xbox One X.

Encounters will be available on PC via Steam and GOG at the end of October. The Xbox One version will be available February 2018.
