The Google Home platform looks like a perfect match for Nest's series of smart home products and the newly announced partnership is yielding some interesting new features.
Familiar Faces program will be powered by Google Assistant and tell you exactly who is ringing your Nest doorbell. If it doesn't recognize, you can ask Google Home to show you the stream on your television.
By saying "Goodnight" to your Google Home, it will set a series of actions into play to secure your home and interact with other Nest products to match the settings in things like the smart thermostat.
Broadcast is a new feature that allows one Google Home device to broadcast a message to the other devices in the home. The example shown had a parent tell one Home to broadcast that it's time to get ready for school on the other devices. Alongside this announcement, Home devices will have 50+ new features centered on family interactions. There will be games, broadcast options, and improved voice match in the voice recognition system for better interaction with children.
