Asif Khan is the CEO and majority shareholder of Shacknews. He began his career in video game journalism as a freelancer in 2001 for Tendobox.com. Stream of consciousness as I listen,
      - Intro song too long, much like my penis.
      - Introducing yourselves is good, but add your titles too, because new people might not know you by name.
      - I realize this probably isn't feasible for all future episodes, but listening to the podcast is a much more pleasant experience when everyone is in the same room. Maybe have everyone record their mics and edit the shit together in the future.
      - Also introduce the site a little. Mentioning chatty and hinting at the long history is neat, but idk if it's clear to new listeners what any of it means.
      - Interesting to hear about your greatest financial risk ever.
      - Good to hear what the show is actually going to be about.
      - Hot logo scoop
      - Sites with black backgrounds. I see that you are a man of culture as well.
      - Maybe include some kind of community interaction towards the end. Listener questions or good threads from chatty or whatever. People like hearing their name spoken.
      - Outro song also too long. I'll listen to like twenty seconds of an intro, but as soon as the host says "thanks for listening" I'm peacing out.

        Thank you for the feedback.

We are definitely going to record David and I locally and have our remote guests record their own voice track.

I want this to have much better sound than our previous podcast.

How many different attempts at Shackcasts have there been over the years?

I know there was one with Remo and Gibson back in the day.

I think there was a brief attempt at a relaunch in the GameFly Administration.

As someone who worked at Shack for years trying to push our team to make this a better place with an emphasis on community and jumping in to interact with everyone when people hated the company's redesign and to make sure they knew they had advocates, the comment that the GameFly staff was disconnected from Chatty early in this episode made me (and Brian Leahy) super salty.

Yeah it's really shitty that people assume no one working here during GameFly cared.

        I had been a shacker since '98 - when I was 14 - before I ever started working there.

Looking forward to another Shack podcast attempt by the true staffers...

I accidentally stuck my foot in my mouth. To explain (posted this in a Twitter thread):

‪No disrespect intended to Xav or other former staff. I sincerely apologize for any offense.‬ I should explain what I meant as someone from the outside looking in at that time.

I was a big fan of Weekend Confirmed. Listened weekly until the show ended and thought all hosts were articulate, fun, and knowledgeable. But there was some sentiment amongst Chatty that some of the hosts didn't seem as tuned in to Shackers as they did other forums. I don't know that I ever expressed that, but other Chatty members did and I tended to agree. That was all I meant.

I shouldn't have made the comment at all, and the way I phrased it made it come across as a blanket condemnation of all former GameFly staff, which was unintentional.

To be fair, the Railgun was in Shadow Warrior before Quake 2.
