The Evil Within 2 was a welcome sight at E3 this year, given the popularity and success of the original from Tango Gameworks and developer Shinji Mikami. In a new "Survive" trailer for the game, leading father Sebastian Castellanos must survive an array of ugly, nightmarish creatures to save his daughter, Lily, while also trying to survive an "it's all your fault" type of guilt.
Yep, this trailer is perfect for a survival horror game, where you must survive to beat it. It's full of lots of blood and explosions as Sebastian is surviving, while he also survives some inner turmoil from some pretty sadistic voices in his head. Let's let Bethesda explain it a bit more (read it with this playing in the background):
"Plagued by memories of the daughter he couldn’t save and a mystery he could never solve, he begins to lose himself in his past mistakes. Sebastian lives out his nightmares every day, unable to pull himself from his downward spiral. Until an old friend-turned-traitor reenters his life with an offer: Return to the nightmare and save your daughter. The Evil Within 2 gives a broken man the chance to make things right and find the peace he so deserves, but he'll have to go through hell first."
All kidding aside, the game looks just as warped as the original. If you are looking forward to the release on Friday the 13th of October (on PC, PS4 and Xbox One), then you will be interested in some pre-order goodies that are available through the Last Chance Pack.
- The Burst Handgun: This exclusive weapons is available only through The Last Chance Pack and uses handgun bullets that can be found or crafted.
- Crafting Supplies: Upgrade your go-to weapon, craft additional ammo, or make traps to incapacitate enemies with these supplies, available at the start of your descent into Union.
- Medical Case: You’ll need to stay alive if you want to save Lily, and these supplies will give you the aid you need to venture deeper into the madness.
This will be your last chance to pre-order until the game comes out.
