Final Fantasy 15 Update Adds Off-Roading, Prepares for Prompto

You can finally take your sweet ride off the beaten path in Final Fantasy 15.

The Final Fantasy 15 1.12 update is now live, and if you felt that off-roading was sorely missing from the game, you will be happy to know it is now a feature. And there are all new ways to deck out the Regalia to give you the best experience while you are taking selfies.

The new patch, which is a rather hefty 8.65GB, adds customization for the Regalia Type-D, available at Hammerhead, and fans of the game have already started to tweet all kinds of wild images of the new vehicle in action. It's like FF15 meets Grand Theft Auto V. You even have Prompto taking selfies before a jump.

There are several spots on Eos in the game that are difficult to get to, so off-roading in the royal car should make it easier to check them out.

In the meantime, here are the patch notes:

  • Implementation of Regalia Type-D off-road customization option (available at Hammerhead)
  • Conclusion of survey regarding future updates
  • Addition of compatibility with Episode Prompto
  • Addition of pieces from Episode Prompto to music player tracklist
  • Various bug fixes

Note the Episode Prompto compatibility. That new DLC drops tomorrow, letting players take on the role of Prince Noctis' childhood friend. It looks like Prompto will have a bigger arsenal of weaponry at his disposal, including a bazooka. That should make selfies even more fun.
