E3 2017: EA Details Battlefield 1: In the Name of the Tsar Expansion

The expansion will hit Battlefield 1 this September.

At its EA Play E3 event, Electronic Arts revealed details for Battlefield 1: In the Name of the Tsar, an expansion due to hit in September. A trailer offered sneak peeks into the missions, characters, and gameplay changes planned for the expansion.

In the Name of the Tsar is a multiplayer-focused expansion. Female soldiers will debut, as will more maps, weapons, and vehicles.

Ahead of Tsar, EA will roll out eight new maps over the summer. Six of those will be connected to In the Name of the Tsar. Two maps set in French vistas will launch over June and July. The first, due out this month, is Nivelle Nights; Prise de Tahure will follow in July. Both maps are set at night, giving players a change of scenery, and perhaps of pace.

Well, the worst thing is it's using the old DLC model of having to a) pay and b) thus splitting the online community. I am not interested in that anymore after seeing how it's done in games like R6 Siege, it's just bad value.

Yea you'd figure dice and ea would have fixed this since bf3. Because that system (and rented servers) straight up ruined that game.
