Company Of Heroes Announced

Following last's weeks story from Relicnews, THQ & Relic Entertainment today officially announced the new real-time strategy game Company of Heroes. The WW2 game is scheduled for release next year and will be shown at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo.

Company of Heroes is built on Relic's next-generation Essence Engine and also utilizes the Havok Physics engine, delivering cinematic visual detail in a world completely driven by realistic physics. Gamers will experience the journey of the brave men of Able Company in a deep single-player campaign that begins with the invasion of Normandy through their fight across Europe, all set against the most dynamic battlefield ever seen in a game. Company of Heroes' completely destructable environment means no two battles ever play out in the same way. Advanced squad AI delivers startling new realism and responsiveness, bringing soldiers to life as they interact with the environment and execute advanced squad tactics to eliminate the opposition forces.
A website will launch at http://www.companyofheroesgame.com/ shortly. Update: the first few screenshots are now available.

Meanwhile Computer Games Magazine has word that ATI will have another game theater at E3, in fact they'll have two of them. One of them will demo a Take Two title, while the other will be showing the next game from Remedy. The Death Rally and Max Payne developer has been very quiet since the release of Max Payne 2 back in 2003, but it looks like that silence will soon end.
