Second Dawn of War Expansion Announced

THQ and Relic Entertainment today announced that a second expansion pack for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War is in development. Set to be released this fall, the untitled expansion pack features new singleplayer and multiplayer content, and two new races.

"We're extremely proud of the world-wide critical acclaim that the million-unit-selling Dawn of War franchise has received to-date," said Ron Moravek, general manager, Relic Entertainment. "With this latest expansion, we've taken feedback from the players to create a powerful, action-orientated single- and multiplayer experience that is enriched by the quality and depth of the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Dawn of War will be forever reforged for the Greater Good!

Some guy in the dorms keeps pressuring me to play the game.

I know at one time Starcraft was referred to as "orcs in space", but Christ, this game IS orcs in space.

Game looks awesome, but just seems to far fetched to me :/

If it didn't have the orcs i'd have played it already

I just hope the install is better than the last expansion. I had to reinstall the original then do the upgrade. Please release on DVD!

It's simple math, for every evil race, Relic likes to add a "good" one. (Order vs Disorder etc). Necron are obviously disorder, they will be added, and the Tyranid are also disorder, so the Tau will probably be added to balance out the Necron's disorder...not the Tyranids.

This game has been installed on my computer since the demo. Love it. The new Imperial units are a very different experience, to me at least. Those damn grenade launchers are tough! Anyway go tyrranids.

This is good to hear. Is it me or is it rare that games get two expansion packs these days?

I have to go all the way back to Quake 2 and Total Annihilation before I can recall that being something that typically happened when a game sold well.

Nowadays it seems to be one expansion and then on to a sequel.

And in other news, relic/thq appear to be displeased at the level of service from gamespy and have been soliciting suggestions for features to add to their next games online service, which it looks like they will be running themselves.

Finally, publishers seem to be realising gamespys matchmaking service is utter crap. Something everyone has been screaming since they began it :/

With all this talk about people wanting Tyranids think of this:

It will probably be Necrons and Tau for this expansion, and then in a year or so Dawn of War 2 should come out, and what better main enemy would there be than Tyranids? >:)

It would take a long time to get the Tyranids race down right as someone pointed out in the previous posts.
