Every Confirmed Nintendo Switch Game So Far

Here's a list of every confirmed title for the Nintendo Switch console/handheld hybrid.

25

Nintendo is revealing the Switch to the press tomorrow evening, but we don't know exactly how in-depth they're going to be with upcoming Nintendo Switch games. We assume they'll be at least dropping information on which titles will be Nintendo Switch launch games, but we may have to wait longer to get info on future titles for the console/handheld hybrid.

The following is a list of titles that have either been outright confirmed for the Nintendo Switch or had enough rumors circulate to make their existence a forgone conclusion.

Confirmed Nintendo Switch Games

Constructor

This remake of the 1997 management tycoon-style game was announced to be heading to Nintendo Switch via the official Constructor Facebook page. No release date or further details have been revealed. Constructor will also be coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Cube Life: Island Survival

Cube Life: Island Survival was first released on the Wii U eShop. The developer, Cypronia, is bringing the game to Nintendo Switch and PC, but the ETA is still unknown.

Dragon Quest X

Square Enix's latest entry in the classic Dragon Quest series is coming to Nintendo Switch. Dragon Quest X is slated to be an MMO, which is new territory for the Dragon Quest series. As it is the only MMO announced for the Nintendo Switch so far, it may be the first of its genre on Nintendo's new platform. No release date has been announced for the title yet.

Dragon Quest XI

Dragon Quest XI was confirmed to be heading to the Nintendo Switch in the same announcement with Dragon Quest X, also sans release date. Dragon Quest XI is a more traditional jRPG than its numerical predecessor and will also be coming to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo 3DS.

Just Dance 2017

Ubisoft announced a Nintendo Switch version of their dance game, Just Dance 2017, during E3 2016. It's expected to be out sometime in 2017.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is confirmed for a 2017 launch. However, there is still some speculation on whether or not the title will release in time for the Nintendo Switch's launch. If it does make the launch, Breath of the Wild will get a March 2017 release, if not it will more than likely only be a few months behind.

LEGO City Undercover

LEGO City Undercover was previously a Wii U exclusive. TT Games has announced they're porting Lego City Undercover to Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One sometime in Spring 2017.

Project Sonic

Sega announced a new Sonic game, dubbed Project Sonic, would be coming to Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Not much was shown on Project Sonic except a small debut trailer, and no release date has been confirmed.

Rime

This adventure game from Tequila Works was originally a Sony PlayStation 4 exclusive, but after Sony decided against publishing the game, it's now coming to PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in addition to the PS4. Rime was recently confirmed for a May 2017 release.

Seasons of Heaven

The indie title by AnyArts, Seasons of Heaven is coming to Nintendo Switch. The game is published by Square Enix and is about a boy and his dog exploring a mysterious and fantastical world. No release date has been confirmed for Seasons of Heaven yet.

Stardew Valley

Last year's PC life/farming-sim, Stardew Valley, is coming to Nintendo Switch. Publisher Chucklefish states that there will be unique features in the Nintendo Switch version of the game. No release date has been indicated for Stardew Valley.

Unconfirmed, But Likely Nintendo Switch Games

Five games shown in the Nintendo Switch first-look trailer haven't been confirmed by either Nintendo nor their hypothesized development studios yet.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Although this game was shown in the Nintendo Switch trailer, Bethesda and Nintendo have kept mum on whether Skyrim will appear on the system or not. A Nintendo Switch GameStop page, since taken down, referred to the game as a playable title for the Switch, though.

Mario Kart 8 (maybe?)

The first-look trailer also showed footage for a Mario Kart game that looks similar to Mario Kart 8  being played. Nintendo hasn't confirmed whether they will be bringing a new version of Mario Kart or a port of Mario Kart 8 with added features to the Nintendo Switch. However, it seems likely a Mario Kart game will arrive in some form.

Unnamed NBA Title

An NBA game resembling NBA 2K17 was shown in the first-look trailer being played on the Nintendo Switch. 2K Sports hasn't announced an NBA 2K17 release for the Nintendo Switch, but the footage seems much too close for there not to be some plan to bring the NBA 2K series to NIntendo's new system.

A New Super Mario Title

Footage of a new Super Mario series title that appeared to play like Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario 64 was spotted in the Nintendo Switch first-look trailer as well.

Splatoon

A version of Splatoon was seen playing on Nintendo Switch in the first-look trailer. What makes this version of the game so odd is that it featured customizable hairstyles, which is an odd change to make if you're just using it as stock footage.

That's all we know for now concerning Nintendo Switch's upcoming games library. We'll learn more during the Nintendo Switch press reveal tomorrow night. You can see the press reveal live stream on the Nintendo Switch website and visit Shacknews during it for up-to-the-minute news coverage.

Stardew Valley seems like it would be awesome for playing on a plane or curled up on the couch while half-watching something on the TV.

Yes. Recent Stardew threads around here have got me wanted to start a new run, and I think I'll do it on the Switch!

Yup! Would also love to see something like Rimworld on the switch. I'd probably never leave the bed.

That's disingenuous. Every console released over the past ~6-10 years has released with ports. Development is expensive and studios need to fund new games somehow. Thus, ports. Also, not everyone plays every new game the moment it comes out.

It's been multiple generations since a Nintendo console had decent 3rd party support, is what I meant mostly.

If you're buying a Nintendo console, you're buying it mainly for Nintendo games. That's just how it works. And nothing wrong with that!

Well, these aren't launch titles. These are just things that various devs have said they're bringing to the platform. And, personally, I don't think this is weak at all. Several titles I'd want to play.

If its backwards compatible as people say it could come without a launch game and I would consider buying it.

Also The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Dragon Quest and Stardew Valley seem like a solid lineup.
New Mario and Splatoon as teased ant that’s more games I played in 2 years on the ps4.

New Mario, new Zelda, a motherfucking Mario Kart, Splatoon, 2 Dragon Quest games, and all signs point to a Pokemon game. And somehow .. it's weak. Man.. that's a fucking ridiculous lineup. You know they're going to have virtual console games too out of the game.

Even with the Mario Kart and Splatoon games being rehashed (if they are) from their previous iterations, that line up is still the best I think I've ever seen. What system has ever had it better?

      Hmmm

      Cube Life
Looks good, but I'd probably rather have DQ Builders instead.

      Dragon Quest X
I guess I missed that this was an MMO. If it has a sub, then pass. I'm done with any MMO that has a sub, especially if the up front game is going to cost $60. Buuuut, that's interesting if this is going to come on a cart. There has to be a way to patch in new content. So, there has to be some kind of additional storage option for this to work. Maybe this game only works in docked mode?

      Dragon Quest XI
      YES please!
Please be a launch title. Please be a launch title.

      Just Dance
How is this supposed to work on the Switch? Unless the mini Joy cons have full gyros in them, will there be a separate camera accessory? There doesn't appear to be any camera on top of the tablet, so it'd have to be a separate thing.

      Lego City
This will likely be a must own for the family

      Rime
Hadn't followed this at all, but the art style looks similar to Zelda, so probably fits in with the Switch line up well.

      Seasons of Heaven
Looks kinda like someone took the idea of the Nvidia/Unreal Kite demo and just ran with it. Might be a show piece for what the gpu can do if nothing else.

      Stardew Valley
My only concern is that they nail moving all the keyboard controls to the Joycon. I kept waiting to see if they'd come out with official joypad support on the PC. Maybe after this release? But, at that point, I'd probably just play it on the Switch since I can go between cough and tablet.

The Stardew controls could be touch based.

That would actually be even better. I got it for my wife, who has a Surface 3. She found it unplayable unless she had it docked. But, she wanted to play it on the couch. But, it's a moot point since it'll be on Switch and she can play it on the tv. From the couch. Score!
