Interesting to hear Nintendo talking about info-appliance uses for the DS, I really thought we would have seen more of this so much sooner. I think it begs the question of buying a console for what it does versus what future promise it holds? As I grow older I think the PSP was my last time for extending future credit to a console.

Well, there are lots of message games coming out now. Like they’ve got something really important to get off their chest about the war in Iraq or the player is forced to make some dicey underwater moral choices. Really, just a whole heck of a lot of stuff to think about. With that in mind, at the beginning of the Portal development process, we sat down as a group to decide what philosopher or school of philosophy our game would be based on. That was followed by about fifteen minutes of silence and then someone mentioned that a lot of people like cake.

Start the flames, but I thought this album was terrible. Maybe one good song. Maybe? I'm starting to wonder if all the praise for the actual ALBUM was just influenced because of it's delivery method and not the actual content.
On the other hand, I've been listening to Foo Fighters Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace and I'm astounded at how incredibly awesome the first few songs are. I want The Pretenders as a Guitar Hero 3 track. Now. Either that, or Let It Die, which is also awesome

Ok.... Im not impressed at all here. First off the single player game wont even go past the loading screen. The multiplayer servers are down... and for some fucked up reason I have to lower my desktop resoultion to get the game to even turn on. What the hell is this shit??? My computer is pretty damn good(quad intel/gf8800/2gb) with up to date drivers. This is fucking stupid Id take this game back right now except fucking stores dont take back open software no matter how broken it is.

I have mentioned this a couple of times on my podcasts, but I want to make sure those that don't listen to the show get the message. Specifically, don't share your account information. If you run into that person in Halo 3 who claims if they could have your LIVE ID name and password to recover your Xbox LIVE account to their Xbox and they'll rank you up or find you all the hidden skulls in Halo 3, I urge you not to fall to temptation. While it may be appealing, in addition to violating the Xbox LIVE Terms of Use it can also result in you permanently losing your account. If that 'friend' of yours decides not return your account and buys a bunch of Arcade titles and movies on your account, there is nothing we can do except cancel the account since you willingly shared your information.

In addition to losing your Gamertag, you'll also lose your Gamerscore, saved games and any points you have on the account.
While I am on the subject of things you should not do, I strongly urge you not to tamper with your Gamerscore and Achievements. If you decide to employ some nefarious techniques to artificially increase your Gamerscore or obtain achievements by manipulating the Xbox software without playing the game, bad things will happen. What type of bad things? For one thing we may remove the entire Gamerscore for an account that contains manipulated gamerscore. Let me be more clear: If you use tampered gamesaves to boost your Achievements and Gamerscore, you may sign in to Xbox LIVE one day and discover that we have removed your Gamerscore. Once we do that, you will never be able to re-earn those achievements on that account. Even worse, you might have your account and/or console banned from Xbox Live.
As you can imagine, we know how to find out if you do this and we do take action. And we'll continue to do so.
The best way to increase your Gamerscore or gain that Achievement is to earn it like a real gamer; play the game. Then you can rightly be proud of your Gamerscore as you earned it yourself and not have to worry about anything. I imagine that the majority of you earn your Gamerscore honorably, but I know there are some people out there are may not be as honest. In short: Don't do it. It's not worth it.

Probably RAM and stuff too, but price is an issue so I want to go with the absolute necessary for now and worry about the rest later,
I haven't been keeping up with the new processor stuff (especially the Intel stuff with its new goofy naming schemes), so I want the Shack to help me. Give me some suggestions. Does anyone know why my wiimote wouldn't be playing sounds through its speakers?
We've been playing GH3, and when we first played on my roommate's Wii I'm positive we were getting the guitar sounds when we fucked up, but now on mine we aren't. I don't 100% know that if I switched it back we'd still be hearing them on his Wii (and am not checking b/c he's playing right now), but either way, what setting could I have fucked up that would cause this? Is there a volume control or something?
