Ubisoft No Longer Interested in Acquiring SCi

2
Though it was the first company to approach SCi in a string of acquisition talks, Paris-based Ubisoft now says it has no interest in buying the Eidos parent company. An Ubisoft rep told Reuters that SCi was too expensive a purchase.

"Ubisoft has no intention of making an offer for SCI-Eidos," an Ubisoft spokesperson told Reuters. "We are looking at other opportunities for external and internal growth which can create more potential value for shareholders."

After it came out that Ubisoft had been in talks with SCi, it was revealed that media giant Time Warner as well as an unnamed Chinese corporation had approached the London-based company as well. SCi became an acquisition target this summer when executives admitted to incorrectly judging the decrease in popularity of Sony's PlayStation 2 and the surge in sales of Nintendo's Wii.

Well, the Chinese should definitely consider getting them to make Carmageddon 4, and distribute it exclusively in China. Perhaps enough people will go crazy after playing it and mow down 4-5 thousand people at a time.

Ahh... I can see it now:
