Now, led by a new development company, Gears is back to reclaim its spot atop the tower of third-person shooters. Thanks to the new Xbox Play Anywhere system, fans will no longer need to have an Xbox One to enjoy the new shooter, instead they’ll be able to enjoy it from the comfort of their PC. How to Get Windows 10 Anniversary Update
The first step to playing any game on PC, is to make sure you’re ready for it. If you want to enjoy the features that Xbox Play Anywhere brings to the table (trust us, you do), you’re going to need to make sure you have the Windows 10 Anniversary update installed on your computer. How to Get Gears of War 4 on PC
Now that you have the Windows 10 Anniversary Edition installed, it’s time to move on to the next step, purchasing the game. If you happen to own an Xbox One, and have already preordered the game there, don’t sweat it. Any users who purchase Gears of War 4 on PC or Xbox One can play the title on the opposite platform, for no extra cost to them. This means that you can purchase the game Xbox one, and switch over to PC really easily, allowing you to pick and choose how and where you want to enjoy the story.
Go ahead and open up your Windows Store application and search for Gears of War 4. Several different editions will show up. The Ultimate Edition gives you early access, it’s just a few days, so don’t sweat it if you can’t shell out that amount of cash at the moment. But, either version will give you access to the Play Anywhere feature. If you haven’t bought it yet, go ahead and do so. If you have purchased it, click the Install button, and choose the drive where you’d like to install it.
Once the game is installed, all that is left to do is wait for release. Once the game releases on October 7, for Ultimate Edition users, or October 11 for normal edition purchases, you’ll be able to load up your Windows Store, and play the game without any issues.
