Steam Autumn and Winter sale 2015 dates reportedly revealed; lacking flash and daily sales

Brace yourself. Steam sales are coming.

Steam’s Autumn sale will reportedly run from November 25th at 10am PT and will end on December 1st at 10am PT. The Winter / Holiday sale will reportedly run from December 22nd at 10am PT and end on January 4th at 10am PT.

The report comes from the Steamworks developer group, which was picked up on Reddit, where a message was posted discussing the upcoming sales events. According to the message, it appears Flash and Daily Sales will not be returning to these two particular sales.

“In past sale events, we’ve asked for two discounts—a duration discount that runs for the length of the sale, and a feature discount that runs in the event that a game is featured on the front page,” the statement reads. “This year, to optimize the sale for customers and to allow us to feature and recommend your products in more ways to more customers, we’re asking for just one discount, to run the length of the sale.”

Top games will still be highlighted on Steam’s front page for 24 - 48 hour spans, but those that are highlighted will stay at their most competitive discount, before and after its featured.

Both Flash and Daily Sales kept us checking out the front page of Steam on a daily basis to see what kind of deal we can suddenly take advantage of, although this route certainly helps ensure Steam users get the biggest discount possible from the get go. While we'll miss Flash and Daily Sales, at least we know we won't be missing anything if we skip a day or two from checking Steam's frontpage.

Well, at least it will make it easier for us to compare the game price with other websites to see if they are actually on sale.

Probably won't see as low prices as before though.

this is what im afraid of aswell because the 24 hour sales usually offered really high discounts i dont get what this guy is saying about if they really are in discount because you can do that any way

This basically means I don't have to wait until the end of a sale to buy something in hopes of it being a flash/daily sale. I can just buy what I want from the start, and that's awesome.
