Shacknews Chattycast 14: Forty-One?!

In which the gang welcomes a Canadian into their midst, and pays the price for their foolishness.

This week the Chattycast welcomes former Shacknews editor and all around nice guy Xav de Matos to the show. Joystiq let Xav loose long enough to shake his fist at Chatty for their top PC game choices, and then talk about sleeper hits and video game A.I.

Thanks as always to those who chipped in with topic suggestions this week: Amusatron and Nerdsbeware. Special thanks also go to watcherxp for compiling the top PC games list that we've discussed the last two weeks. If you want profound thanks directed at you, keep an eye on Chatty to suggest topics for next week's show!

Games Discussed
Segment 1: Chatty's Top 100
Segment 2: Sleeping Dogs, Shadow of Mordor, BioShock, Spec Ops: The Line
Segment 3: Halo

This is actually episode 14, not 13. The offending employee has been sacked.

In which we also discuss the rest of the Top 100 PC Games of All-Time list, too! Xav has a few issues with it. ;)

I've been using a new tool to boost the audio the last few weeks. It sounds much louder to my ears when using headphones, so it should be loud enough for car listening.

I assume topic 2 was the one I suggested and I am happy to see Spec Ops listed before even listening. I had take a pretty long break from modern military shooters, and most shooters in general. Bought Spec Ops on a Steam sale for NOTHING and ended up really loving it.

Seriously though, The Witcher 2 was #41 on your top 100 pc games list, Chatty? What happened to you. You used to be cool.

Too low! Skyrim was in the top ten? Come on folks... I remember the hate that game got the year it came out and people lot their mind when they thought it was the Shack staff's GOTY.

To be fair, Witcher 2 has plenty of flaws, many of which were already present in Witcher 1.

It's a good thing Skyrim has never had problems then, I guess!

I think in general FPS or multiplayer games are much higher on this list, with Civ and XCOM and StarCraft so low IMO. A different list would be IGN's top 100 list for example

It's a good thing Witcher 2 wasn't #37. If it was this episode title would have seemed inspired by a Clerks blowjob joke from Kevin Smith.
