Today at Sony's Gamescom briefing, Ubisoft's Yves Guillemont took the stage to announce a movie based on Watch Dogs. Ubisoft will be partnering with Sony for the project, having recently pushed into movie production.

When Ubisoft registered domain names for a potential film, it seemed all but certain that a Watch Dogs film would be inevitable. The French publisher is hoping to make it a "blockbuster," so it appears they are aiming for a theatrical release instead of a direct-to-DVD flick.
