LEGO and TT Games Extend Development Partnership

2
LEGO and TT Games Publishing today announced an extension of their "exclusive partnership" which will see the LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Rock Band developer continuing to develop video games based upon the plastic blocks through 2016.

"The games we develop with TT Games are not just great fun but also inspire kids to play with their LEGO bricks, exploring our different play themes more deeply," said LEGO Digital vice president Henrik Taudorf Lorensen in a press statement. "We are very excited to continue to work with TT Games because they take a distinctive approach to making games creative, social and non-violent, which makes them a valuable part of the broader LEGO experience."

The pair also reveal that the legions of LEGO games by Traveller's Tales have sold "close to 50 million" copies combined worldwide. Their next release will be the wizardly LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4, scheduled for release some time in May.

No surprise here! TT Games has done a great job making LEGO games.

In an industry filled with horrible and crappy IP adaptations, it's honestly surprising to see the kind of quality coming out of something as random as movie-themed LEGOs.

Yeah, I was actually surprised with the quality step-up in Indy2 compared to the first, I mean it was only about a year in between, yet they really stepped up the plate.
      Good for them.
