Morning Discussion: The Devil's Work

So I've been futzing around a bit with the Xbox 360 dashboard update slated to hit on August 11, and I have to say, the new "Achievement Progress" tracker it adds to in the user profile area is just plain old evil, in that "it will break your spirit" kind of way.

See, it provides a breakdown of how many Achievements and Gamerscore Points you have over how many you could have possibly earned. For example, my Gamerscore is currently 14105 out of a possible 78705, as I've earned 819 of 3607 Achievements across all of the Xbox 360 games I've played. Seeing this just makes me feel ...less than.

There's also a figure for "complete" games in which you've earned all possible Achievements. In my case, one, with the icon for Cloning Clyde looking quite lonely. I wouldn't worry about Clyde though--he's been alone there since 2006. He's used to it.

How would that work, though, if Blizzard changes your login name to that of your Battle.Net account?

Like, do you now get some kind of option window displaying whatever WoW accounts you have?

When you login with your Battle.Net account you will get a second window asking you which account you'd like to log into Account A, Account B, etc. You just click either one and you go in. You then open up another copy of WoW do the same thing except choose the other account.

at what point are they going to force us to merge our WoW accounts into a bnet account? I haven't bothered yet since I don't see the point

I dunno, but battle.net accounts never seem to experience authentication issues
