God of War 3, MAG Coming This Year

Tucked away within a Sony press release trumpeting next week's arrival of Guerrilla Games' Killzone 2 was word that two other anticipated PlayStation 3 exclusives, SCE Santa Monica's God of War III and Zipper's MAG, are both slated to arrive this year.

Before today, neither game had been given a firm release window. MAG is a 256-player online shooter, in which players assemble into groups of 8 to duke it out in a persistent world. God of War III, meanwhile, is the latest entry in the beloved beat 'em up series.

"[Killzone 2] ushers in an unprecedented year of titles to hit the PlayStation platform throughout the year including the blockbuster exclusives Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, inFamous, MAG, Heavy Rain, God of War III and MLB 09 The Show," states the release.

God of War III is the only title in that list i would call a blockbuster exclusive. But that alone should be enough to get me to buy a PS3 sometime in the next 6 months. Any ideas if there is any sort of price cut expected in the next year or so? Cause i can definitely wait for one if its coming

Uncharted 2 will be a huge hit as well. I don't know why people dont see it as a console seller, maybe because there is no multiplayer - but it definitely a must own title for the PS3. But yeah, the other titles listed as blockbusters are kind of underwhelming. I've read and heard some rumors about another price drop on some of the SKUS but its all hearsay. Don't think there is anyting official yet.

I dont think its a console seller either. Its an amazing game (one of my favs) but unless you have a PS3 you probably don't care

Wouldn't the first one have had to be a huge hit for that to happen? I mean, it did well, but I don't think there's anything exclusive to the PS3 that's a "huge hit".

Part of the PS3's problem is that there hasen't been that one title that makes you get the system. There's a lot of games that'd be nice to have, like Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, Ratchet and Clank, but nothing that really is head and shoulders above everything like a Halo, Gears of War, Smash Bros or Mario Galaxy (And even that wasn't that huge).

God of War 3 might be that game. I'll probably do what I did for MGS4 though. Rent the PS3 for a couple weeks, finish it and whatever else has come out in the past year, and take it back. Unless it's down to $300, then it's mine.

MGS4 was worth the price of 10 PS3's

ok maybe not but it's MGS, you have to buy it.

plus you get a blu-ray player out of the deal

Mreh, I've never been a fan of the MG series and 4 is no exception. They fixed the horrible controls but still I find it to be a game that I can skip and not feel bad that I haven't played it all the way through. Maybe it's just me, but I always thought the series was a little too over-hyped.
