New Spore Screenshots Show Off Expansion

Galactic Adventures, the first major expansion for Spore (PC), arrives later this spring, and now developer Maxis has released the first few screenshots from the project.

Permit players to "beam down" to alien planets and engage in new missions, the expansion will reward gamers with new futuristic items--including an energy blade, stunning charm and jump jet--and allow them to craft and share their own missions.

Check back with Shacknews later today for a closer look at the expansion.

If these missions are like mini rpg games and players can create these missions and share them, that would be interesting.

If by interesting you mean terrible, then yes. User created RPG missions is a lower rung of the shit ladder from user created creatures.

That's exactly what it is. You get planet-making tools and can populate a world however you want, set NPC interaction rules, pick the player creature and then set a completion goal.

Cool. Guess I'm getting it then. I hope I don't have to get creature parts to play it.
